Almost two years ago we decided to dress as Mad Hatters for our first Halloween bash in the new house. When our costumes arrived it seemed like a good idea to take a picture, and this picture needed to be a production. So we turned our backyard into a Wonderland Tea Party and included Toby.
When we were asked to make a picture book for our adoption agency to use to represent us during adoption meetings, we used this picture as the opening page, along with a promise that we would laugh everyday, say I love you everyday, and that there would be many adventures. It was this picture that won the hearts of those at Olivia’s adoption meeting and gave us an unanimous vote on the first round of choosing a family for her (something that is almost unheard of).
Now, in honor of that picture we found Olivia an Alice costume and every year we have decided to recreate that moment and celebrate with a Tea Party.
Next time we will be including more people, it is too fun of an experience not to share.
