It happened all at once and so gradually that I can’t even tell where it began. I can pinpoint various catalysts along the way. I can also describe a slow and steady burn of learning to love and feel and grow that ultimately led me here.

The Uncharted Territory

about us

Valerie

I am in my mid-to-late-forties with a husband and a preschooler. I grew up an active and devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I’m wrapping up an incredibly painful and disorienting faith/trust crisis. I’m fairly confident that I’ll share more about that in future posts. But for now, I’m trying to reconstruct a world view that fits well with my soul.

I’m not here to tear anyone down, disprove any faith tradition, or cause anyone trouble. I will share some things that may be challenging for a believing Mormon, but I only share them to convey how it has impacted me and my personal life. You are welcome to investigate and come to your own conclusions.

I am currently reinventing myself as I enter this third act of my life.

I am a perpetual student currently working on degrees in Psychology and Theology.  I love learning and love changing my mind.

My goals are to share what I am learning and write the things I can’t write in my research papers.

Either/or' is a big fat wall, it blocks your way and keeps you small.
But 'both/and' is an open door, It lets you explore so much more.
So think ‘both/and' not ‘either/or,’ and your life will become so much more.
