Hi Friends. I’m Valerie.
I’m not much of a fancy writer. It’s more like a therapy for me–a way of processing through thoughts and feelings and events. So I’ll start with this disclaimer:
I reserve the right to change my mind, to be wrong, and to be inconsistent.
My writings here will not be impeccably researched. You’re basically going to get the personal thoughts I’m having at the moment, most likely written in true ADHD style (last-minute, passionate, sometimes snarky, and widely varied in style).
By way of introduction, I am in my mid-to-late-forties with a husband and a preschooler. I grew up an active and devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I’m wrapping up an incredibly painful and disorienting faith/trust crisis. I’m fairly confident that I’ll share more about that in future posts. But for now, I’m trying to reconstruct a worldview that fits well with my soul.
I’m not here to tear anyone down, disprove any faith tradition, or cause anyone trouble. I will share some things that may be challenging for a believing Mormon, but I only share them to convey how it has impacted me and my personal life. You are welcome to investigate and come to your own conclusions.
Comments to my posts may be deleted at my discretion. I’m okay with disagreement, but not disrespect.
With all that said, welcome to my brain.
Hopefully you’ll find something here that resonates with you.
